Amad Ilyas is a Cannes Lion award winning New York City-based art director with over six years of creative experience. Broadminded and versatile, he has worked with clients from Fortune 500 companies to independent artists across arts, culture, and technology. Amad prides himself on approaching each project with a highly individualized visual sensibility. He’s spearheaded influential campaigns with Twitter, Microsoft , Logitech, J Crew, Verizon, and Nespresso among many other brands. His work has also received recognition in a swathe of publications including Dazed, I-D, the FADER, FACT Magazine, It’s Nice That, Dummy Magazine, The Creative Review, Complex Magazine among others.
Amad has also collaborated with underground record labels executing artwork, pack shots, and refining digital and social media assets. He has worked on promotional merchandise for such imprints as PTP, Domino Records, Terrible Records, RCRDLBL, No Records, XL Records, but has rounded his portfolio connecting with broader music-minded media outlets as Pitchfork and London’s Radar Radio.
As reflected in the projects he selects, Amad is deeply involved in New York’s music community himself. When he’s not putting in hours as an art director, he can be found on the decks spinning at local DIY venues and supporting his friends’ shows in Brooklyn. His tracks have been showcased on online stations such as NTS, Radar Radio, as well as Rinse FM.
